As you're climbing the ladder, take the opportunity to build your skills. Building skills adds value to you (and your resume).  Your climb will be easier, the learning will be fun and the you'll be glad you did.

Keep stress in check.

Climbing the corporate ladder can be extremely stressful. Keep stress in check by taking time out for yourself, spending time with friends and reviewing your goals. Taking care of yourself during stressful times is the best way to continue on your journey without missing a beat. Remember just because it's "lonely at the top" doesn't mean you have to be there alone.

Focus, focus, focus

Focus is one of the main driving forces in achieving your goals. Without focus, we flounder and become wishy-washy. After stating your goals, focus on them to achieve them.

Goals, goals, goals.

For your climb up the corporate ladder, you will need goals. 

Use the rungs on "the ladder" as your mile markers. Goals will help you to stay on track and put you one step closer to reaching the top of the ladder.
